Franklin Resident, Louis Marano, Killed in I-495 Crash

Mass State Police News Release:

Shortly before noon on Friday, May 17, 2024, Massachusetts State Police Troopers responded to a two-vehicle rollover crash on Route 495 southbound in Milford that resulted in a fatality.

Preliminary investigation indicates that a 2022 Lexus SUV was southbound on Route 495. For reasons still under investigation, the Lexus came into contact with a 2015 Nissan Juke. The Lexus then went off the roadway and struck a tree causing the SUV to roll over.

The operator of the Lexus suffered serious injuries and was transported to a Worcester facility. A passenger of the Lexus, Louis Marano, 90, of Franklin, was determined to be deceased on scene by responding emergency personnel. The operator of the Nissan Juke was also transported to an area hospital with minor injuries.

The crash remains under investigation by Troop C of the Massachusetts State Police, the State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section, and the State Police Crime Scene Services Section.
